How is my data stored? Is it private?
All your brewing data (logs, beans, recipes, photos, etc.) is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. We do not have access to your data. An optional iCloud Sync feature is planned for the future, which will use your private iCloud account for syncing between your devices; your data will remain private to you even when using iCloud Sync.
How do I backup or transfer my data?
You can export your Brew Log data as a CSV file from the app's Settings > Data Management section using the 'Export Brew Logs (CSV)' option. You can then save this file manually. The primary intended way to keep data across devices will be the optional iCloud Sync feature once it becomes available.
How does Bean Inventory tracking work?
When you add a bean, you can optionally set an initial quantity. When you log a brew using that bean, the 'Dose' amount you enter is automatically subtracted from the bean's 'Current Quantity'. This helps you track how much you have left.
Can I sync data between devices?
Currently, Ratio stores data locally on each device. iCloud Sync is a planned feature to automatically keep your data consistent across your iPhone and iPad using the same Apple ID. This feature's implementation is temporarily paused due to external factors, but it is planned for a future update.
Where can I change Temperature Units (°C/°F)?
You can select your preferred temperature unit (°C or °F) in the app under Settings > Preferences > Units.
